STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The journey to the big stage began Tuesday evening with in-person tryouts for the 4th annual Valley’s Got Talent – Kids Edition.
Students from ages 8 to 13 years old were allowed to audition.
“We just want to give the kids to share their God given talents with everybody with the general public,” Sycamore Youth Center Executive Director Bobbyjon Bauman said. “It is just a wonderful time. The kids love the show.”
Young performers throughout the area took the stage to showcase their talents in one of four categories — vocal soloists, bands or vocal groups, dance and miscellaneous talents which include instrumentalists and poets.
“I will be singing “Falling in the Arms of the Lord,” Evan Conn said. “I wrote the song and I will be singing it and playing guitar to it.”
“I try to practice singing every night and I like singing and I take lessons with my music teacher,” Andrea Crawford said.
Contestants selected to participate in the show will be notified on Thursday.
The competition will take place at 4 p.m. on April 6 at the Sycamore Youth Center in Steubenville.
