How To Make Absolutely Incredible Kids Day Special For Your Family This March

Honor all the incredible kids in your life on Absolutely Incredible Kids Day, a holiday celebrated every year on the third Thursday in March! There are multiple ways you can let your kiddo know just how incredible they are. Our Montana Kids passed incredible and kept going. They hunt and fish, not afraid to get dirty, lots of sports and more! Celebrate you kid by taking them to a local ice cream shop, going for a hike in Red Lodge, a shopping trip downtown! So many options to get outside and enjoy some family time in our great state!

Start By Letting Them Know:

Created by Camp Fire, a multicultural and non-sectarian youth development organization, this unofficial holiday encourages parents and guardians and loved ones to acknowledge and reward their kids’ achievements!

Boost Their Self-Esteem:

Researchers all agree that lots of encouragement from parents and family members can and will raise a kid’s self-esteem and can help them become more responsible. Psychologists also warn that parents should not praise traits that the child cannot change. Yet they should reserve praise for efforts in areas that are in the control of the child, such as decision-making skills, behavior towards other people and animals, responsibility, and attitude.

How Can You Celebrate?

• They encourage people to send letters and or even texts of encouragement to kids to let them know how important they are. A simple I love you and you are doing great go a long way. Inspire those kiddos in your life by telling them that they are awesome and that they can and will and are doing incredible things. One of my favorite small words of encouragement are You Can Do Hard Things!

Fun Fact Did You Know…

The trampoline and the earmuffs were invented by children. Earmuffs invented by kids?! How great is that? Kind of hilarious if you think about it given us adults will yell EARMUFFS at kids when we don’t want them the hear something, but we all know they can still hear us! There are so many things we can do with our kids here in our great state of Montana.
