WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) — Dozens of kids this weekend had a chance to learn all about the world of medicine. Medical College of Wisconsin hosted a “Mini Medics” day at the Imaginarium Children’s Museum. It was the first time they hosted the event – several medical students were on hand to teach kids about the human body, healthy eating habits, and even learning basic medical techniques like putting on a bandage. According to organizer Jenna Trzebiatowski, she’s happy to be able to teach kids, saying that she was very excited to put on this project as part of her student curriculum, giving kids a chance to come and get an early exposure to the world of medicine. She’s also glad that parents are willing to give their kids that opportunity, and that even parents coming may have a chance to learn something new.
Kids were given a mini medics passport to keep track of everything they learned, everything from learning about the human body to how to exercise, and even how to identify a tick and prevent Lyme disease.
