Fans voted for this sandwich to be sold during the 2025 Timber Rattlers season

The winning sandwich, which competed with four other finalists, will be featured at Flat Top Grill, a concession stand inside the Timber Rattlers’ stadium.

APPLETON – Out of nearly 5,000 votes counted in the 2025 Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats Food Fight, the Three Little Pigs Grilled Cheese sandwich received the most.

Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats Food Fight is an annual food competition hosted by the Wittenberg-based meat wholesaler, where Wisconsin Timber Rattlers fans create and submit original recipes for a chance to win prizes. This year’s theme was bacon.

The sandwich, submitted by Ryan Gill of Sturtevant, is made with Nueske’s bacon, ham, pulled pork and three different types of cheese on three slices of Texas toast. It’s served with a side of tomato-bacon aioli.

Gill’s sandwich made it to the final round of the competition along with four other sandwiches submitted by Wisconsin residents. People were encouraged to vote on which sandwich looked the best to them.

Gill’s winning sandwich will be featured at Flat Top Grill, a concession stand inside the Timber Rattlers stadium, 2400 N. Casaloma Drive.

Gill will also receive four vouchers for any home game during the regular season, four vouchers for their food item and an opportunity to throw out the first pitch before a 2025 Timber Rattlers game.
