Cookies for Kindness in need of Easter basket donations for local kids

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Now that the Easter Basket Fundraiser is over, Cookies for Kindness is working hard to gather what is needed to assemble over 1,000 Easter baskets for children in need in our community.

Founder, Thomas Hill, stopped by Morning Break to share with Northern Nevada what items are especially needed right now to make sure that each basket is filled with lots of fun toys, books and candy. They request that toys be 6 inches or less so that they fit in the baskets. Monetary donations can also be given online.

This event is made possible through partnerships with The Bridge Church, Reno Arch Lions Club, Cookies for Kindness and the KT Grace Foundation.

They will be handing out the baskets to those who signed up on the following days:

  • Saturday, April 5 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 6 – 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, April 11 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 12 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 13 – 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Any unclaimed baskets will be available to anyone walking in first come first serve on April 13. There will also be tables from nonprofits with information and services that families may need on all days .
