DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Nestlé Purina is donating 500 tons of pet food to Quad City animal groups this year.
Purina is donating the food to support local and regional animal shelters, rescues, service dog organizations and K9 units to celebrate the Davenport factory’s global Purina record.
The factory produced enough pet food to feed 10 million dogs and cats a year.
More than 530 people work at the factory, which opened in 1927.
