A Closer Look at The Upcoming Medieval Horror Blight: Survival

Haenir Studio, the development team behind the upcoming “medieval Dead Space” co-op horror Blight: Survival, offered a closer look at the creative process and shared a sneak peek at the game’s world.

The team, which started as two passionate developers, has grown significantly and now includes several dozen full-time professionals. In May, Haenir Studio partnered with the developer Dead by Daylight Behaviour Interactive. Creating a story and a detail-rich game like Blight: Survival requires a lot of preliminary work and discussion. The team puts much effort into creating critical documentation and design planning for core mechanics, world-building, enemy behavior, and how it all connects. The development process goes on actively, and the team gathers for weekly showcase meetings and internal playtests.

The developers also shared a glimpse at what they’ve created over the past few months: a weapon, a new enemy, a new biome, The Marshlands, which you can see in the image above, and more. As for the weapon, the game will feature fragments of three 14th-century Type XIV swords.
