Church hosts special needs sports camp to give area kids a day of fun

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – On Saturday, kids got to play and parents caught a break at the Douglass Learning Center for Dayspring Community Church’s Brave Hearted Special Needs Sports Camp.

Kids got to participate in fun games and activities with other kids and volunteers.

They had several stations they could use to play different games, like cornhole, bowling and volleyball.

Event organizer Daniel Wall said they wanted to give the kids a space to have fun.

“We want to do something for the special needs community in SW Oklahoma, and just create an environment where kiddos can be loved on, have a ton of fun, and we can really just spread the good news of Jesus and just be salt and light in our community,” Wall said.

In addition to a day of play, kids also got to enjoy lunch before going home.

If you missed it this year, don’t worry, because you can always come again next year.
