Former Trump ambassador switches to governor’s race

President Donald Trump has selected former U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia Lynda Blanchard for a role in his administration. Blanchard, a Montgomery native who ran for Alabama governor in 2022, has been nominated to serve as ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome.
