A bill requiring high school students in West Virginia to complete a half-credit course in personal finance in either their 11th or 12th grade year to graduate went into effect in June 2023.
The bill began with students entering the ninth grade for the 2024-25 school year, meaning students who are ninth graders now will be required to take the course before they graduate.
