MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK)—On Friday morning, the Uptown Meridian Mall hosted a food truck tour for members around the area to sample what these vendors had to offer.
Several food truck operators with big followers across East Mississippi, West Alabama, and locally were in attendance, serving delicious meals to members of the community.
This was an excellent way for them to network and gain more followers. The owners of Corni’val Popcorn were very excited about the event, and they talked more about what brought them to the Queen City.
Sybil and Markus Meadows, owners of Corni”val Popcorn, say, “We have quite a few faithful customers in Meridian who come and frequent us all that time, and we also ship to Meridian, MS. So, of course, we want to see our familiar customers and familiar faces, but we also want to gain a new customer base and get our name out there. We do school events, festivals, and all of that.”
When it comes to events like these, it is all about networking, getting your name out there, and advertising your products to make them look appealing to customers.
“The thing is about networking, which is why we are kind of here. We network with some of the local food trucks in Mississippi and in some of the surrounding areas of our area because it helps to branch out. I don’t want to wear my area out; many people know me there, so it’s good to meet other people so we can work together. That’s really the only way this food truck thing works,” Johnny Simpkins, owner of O’ My Turkey Leg, says.
Several vendors from across the state attended, as their food was one to remember.
