A judge cleared the way for a lawsuit to move forward which alleges TikTok does not do enough to protect young users. The lawsuit, brought by 13 states and Washington, D.C., alleges TikTok’s internal data shows an alarming amount of harmful content is not removed from the app and that up to 70% of users ages 13-15 misrepresent their age. NBC News’ Savannah Sellers reports TikTok says the numbers in the lawsuit are misleading and that they stand by their robust safety protections.
