Field Set for 2025 OVC Women’s Basketball Championship Presented by United Fidelity Bank

The field for the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championship Presented by United Fidelity Bank has been set on the final day of the regular season.

Tennessee Tech claimed the OVC regular season championship and the No. 1 seed after finishing 18-2. It is the 19th title in program history and the first since 2012-13. The Golden Eagles produced a 24-5 overall record and earned a double bye to the semifinals, opening play on Friday afternoon.

Lindenwood is the No. 2 seed after finishing 16-4 in OVC action. The Lions and Southern Indiana, who are reclassifying to Division I, is eligible to win the OVC Tournament Championship. Should either win the tournament title, the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament shall be awarded to the tournament runner-up or highest seed eliminated in the semifinals if both teams reach the finals.

Eastern Illinois (15-5) will be the No. 3 seed and earn a single bye to the quarterfinals, where they will open play on Thursday afternoon. The No. 4 seed, also earning a single bye, is Little Rock (12-8).

The field is rounded out by No. 5 Southern Indiana, No. 6 UT Martin, No. 7 Western Illinois and No. 8 Tennessee State.

This year marks the eighth-straight year the event has been held at the Ford Center, which opened in 2011 and is located in the core of Evansville’s downtown district. The event is scheduled to be at the venue through at least 2026.

This event marks the 44th time the OVC Women’s Basketball Postseason Championship has been held; the OVC will provide the first entrant to the 2025 NCAA Women’s College Basketball Tournament.
