Watertown Officers Host Car Rally to Show Support

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – While CO’s stay on strike, others in the community are making a point to show their support.

A number of folks sympathetic to the cause of corrections officers turned up for a car rally today. They started in the City of Watertown, with several trucks gathering at Northland plaza. Eventually. Those cars were decked out with flags and signs urging COs to hold the line. Eventually, the rally made its way to Cape Vincent, where participants joined strikers set up just down the road from the prison.

“So, we’re looking to get people together today for the men and women holding the line. We want to support them for what’s going on with the state. We hope we can show support,” said Stephen Selley Jr.

While the strikes are continuing at Cape Vincent, the exact magnitude isn’t known. Other news reports around the state indicate some COs are reluctantly going back to work.
