How a Chaffee mom’s creative coloring book lets kids and adults track …

For many families, travel is a way to create lasting memories. For Chaffee’s Stevie Williams, the desire to preserve those experiences led to a unique project — a coloring book designed to help families document their journeys together. Williams, collaborating with her best friend, Montana Estes, has released two coloring books.

The inspiration for the project came from a personal need. Williams is a passionate traveler and wanted a way for her children to look back on the places they had visited as a family. While maps and travel journals exist, she sought something interactive for each child.

“I have always had a passion for traveling. Now that I have a family, I want my children to have a way to look back and see the places we’ve visited together,” she said. “I’ve always wanted a method to document my travels. While there are maps to hang on the wall, I was looking for something portable that I could use for each of my kids. It also includes all countries, not just the United States.”

The result is a coloring book that allows users to mark off locations they have visited and color in corresponding areas on a map. The book includes all countries and the 50 states, offering a comprehensive way to track travels in a fun new way.

The creative process began with a simple project. Her first coloring book, “Stress Relief Easy Coloring Book”, was designed to be enjoyable and straightforward, helping her learn the process of creating a coloring book. Drawing inspiration from carefree culture, she focused on elements that are fun to color.

The second book, “Where I’ve Been Coloring Book”, was a long-held dream. Williams envisioned a book that comes pre-filled, allowing users to easily mark off locations and reflect on memories created during their travels.

“My friend and I made this book together. I asked her for help because I wanted a way to track my travels. I was starting to forget some countries I’d visited, and I didn’t want my kids to miss out on those memories. Since we couldn’t find anything like it, we decided to create our own,” she said.
