Clarksville Salvation Army sends 19 kids to Camp Paradise Valley in Kentucky

CLARKSVILLE, TN − Last week, 19 children from the Clarksville area, ages 7 to 12, had the adventure of a lifetime as they attended a week-long summer camp at The Salvation Army’s Camp Paradise Valley, located on the beautiful shores of Dale Hollow Lake in Cumberland County, Kentucky.

For 17 of the kids, it was their first-ever camp experience—and according to Lt. Patrick Lewandowski, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army in Clarksville, they made every moment count.

“All the kids did awesome and had a great time,” said Lewandowski. “It was incredible to see them step out of their comfort zones, try new things, and experience the joy that camp brings—all in a Christ-centered, nurturing environment.”

Since 1972, Camp Paradise Valley has been a place where disadvantaged youth from across Kentucky and Tennessee can explore the outdoors, build friendships, and grow in faith. Each summer, thanks to the generosity of donors, children attend the camp free of charge. Activities include swimming, boating, hiking, archery, arts and crafts, fishing, learning about nature, and studying the Bible.

Lewandowski extended a heartfelt thank you to the Clarksville community for making camp possible: “To everyone who donated—thank you. You didn’t just send kids to camp; you gave them memories, life lessons, and reminders that they are loved by God and by this community.”

If you would like to help, send a child to camp next summer, donations can be made online at www.SalvationArmyClarksville.org or by mailing a check to PO Box 623, Clarksville, TN 37040. Please include “Summer Camp” in the memo line.
