Senator Helming Launches Summer Reading Program for Kids and Teens – Finger Lakes Daily News

State Senator Pam Helming is encouraging children and teens across her district to take part in this year’s Summer Reading Program, themed “Color Our World: Colorea Nuestro Mundo.” The free program is open to young readers of all ages and aims to promote reading and exploration throughout the summer.

Participants who read at least three books by the end of the summer will receive a personalized certificate signed by Senator Helming. Families already enrolled in their local library’s summer reading programs are also welcome to join.

“Reading with children builds creativity and connection,” Helming said. “Whether you’re in elementary school, high school, or anywhere in between—pick up a book, visit your local library, and join us in celebrating the power of reading.”

To participate, parents or guardians can visit helming.nysenate.gov, click on the Summer Reading Program icon, and submit their child’s name along with the titles of books read. The deadline for submissions is August 22.
