Madison coffee roaster recognized as a 2025 Good Food Awards winner

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A Madison coffee roaster has been recognized as a 2025 Good Food Awards winner.

JBC Coffee Roasters’ ‘Las Margaritas Sudan Rume’ coffee earned the title in the annual competition which recognizes outstanding American craft food producers.

This specialty Community Choice edition of the Good Food Awards honors past winners, like six-time Good Food Award winner JBC Coffee Roasters, that continue to set the standard for taste, craftsmanship and responsible production.

“Our Las Margaritas Sudan Rume is a testament to what happens when quality-focused, sustainable coffee growers connect with like-minded coffee roasters,” JBC co-owner Laura Salinger Johnson said. “We are honored to showcase this beautiful coffee.”

JBC Coffee Roasters says its Las Margaritas Sudan Rume is a direct trade coffee from Café Granja La Esperanza, which supplies rare, specialty coffees from Colombia and their farm Las Margaritas. This particular lot is a Sudan Rume, an exceptionally rare, wild coffee variety hailing from South Sudan’s Boma Plateau.

This coffee is available for purchase at jbccoffeeroasters.com but is in very limited supply, JBC says.
