AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Golden Harvest Food Bank in Aiken is a recipient of part of a $10 million grant to the 10 food banks serving the Carolinas.
The David & Nicole Tepper Foundation (DNTF) announced the grant on Wednesday, and it’s the biggest one in the foundation’s history.
DNTF is named in part after David, who owns the Carolina Panthers.

As we continue through summer, many families still wake up wondering how they will put meals on the table for their families as hunger rises across the CSRA.
Golden Harvest in Augusta says they are helping over 300 kids this month.
This grant provides the food bank with an even greater opportunity to support our community and continue its efforts during a time when many people face the greatest challenges.

Aiken Warehouse Manager Ed Chavis says the grant will continue their mission to fight hunger.
“The state of South Carolina ranks seventh nationally in food insecurity and first nationally in severe food insecurity, and so this donation will go a long way to help us fill this gap because so many in this area just need food,” said Chavis.
DNTF provides annual support to each of its partner food banks. In February, the Foundation announced $1.3 million in annual grants, a 15 percent increase from the previous year.

As part of DNTF’s over $10 million commitment, the Teppers have allocated an additional increase in annual grants to partner food banks for 2026.
