Something Good: Kids receive new laptops at Thursday distribution event in Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) – One hundred kids in Thomasville took home free brand-new laptops Thursday!

AT&T and Human I-T gave them away Thursday afternoon at the Boys and Girls Club.

It’s a big gift, helping connect low-income families to the internet when they may not be able to afford these laptops otherwise.

More good news:

Tiffany Davis, director of resource development and marketing, says that kids should not have to worry about money. They want students to focus on their studies and also enjoy the online world just like their peers.

“You have to think about the kids that have homework issues, have reading issues, and when it stops here, to be able to afford them these laptops, it doesn’t just stop here,” Davis said. “When those kids get home with their parents, and those parents can be more involved to help their kids, where you know, where we kind of leave off here at the club.”

The laptops aren’t just for the kids. Officials say their parents can also use them!
