Flavor Me Crazy, a new family-run food truck based in McLean County, officially hit the road earlier this year and has been bringing loaded comfort food and Boba tea to hungry customers across the region.
Megan Crunican, a CNA, shared that for years, she and her husband, William, a truck driver, joked about one day being their own bosses. After some time, they decided to get their fostering license, eventually fostering three children they plan to adopt, adding to their family that already includes their own four children.
“At this time, we have realized that we are the example for their future,” Megan said. “We want to show them that if you put your mind to something have work hard and dedication, your dreams can come true.”
Flavor Me Crazy specializes in loaded potatoes, including options such as Philly cheesesteak, chipotle chicken, and barbecue pork. Also on the menu are loaded fries, nachos, and the barbecue pork burger sandwich, a personal favorite of William and a growing customer base.
“All of our items can be topped anyway you like,” Megan said. “We have lots of things to choose from like spicy barbecue or sweet barbecue.”
But the Crunican’s menu doesn’t stop at savory. The couple added a sweet twist with a custom Boba drink menu that has become a hit, especially among their kids.
“We have come up with our own way to enjoy Boba, which is in a Coke or in a tea,” Megan said. “We have seven different Boba flavors and six different real fruits that you can add to any drink.”
Flavor combinations like a strawberry mango 7UP, loaded with fruit and flavored Boba, have become a unique signature offering.
Though the truck is stationed in McLean County, the Crunicans have plans to expand into Daviess County and beyond, bringing their bold flavors and big hearts to a wider audience. The response, they said, has been overwhelming in the best way.
“The local community has been absolutely amazing,” Megan said. “Word is getting around rather quickly. My email is going off daily, wanting us to come to an event, and we absolutely love it.”
With five kids in middle school, the couple says the summer will be all about teamwork and teaching.
“Our summer is gonna be real fun as a family,” Megan said. “ We want to show them good work ethic, good customer service, and a little bit of responsibility to help prepare them for their future.”
