Columbus to host major international food trade event showcasing Ohio agriculture

Ohio’s agricultural industry is set to take the global stage this summer as Columbus has been selected as one of three U.S. cities to host the Summer in the Cities Buyers Mission, an international food trade event connecting local producers with global markets.

Set for August 6, the event is organized by Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA). It will bring together food and agricultural suppliers from Ohio and vetted international buyers from 21 countries, offering companies the opportunity to promote and export their Ohio-grown products.

“This is a great opportunity for Ohio agriculture,” said ODA Director Brian Baldridge. “Not only do events like this connect our products to new markets, but they help secure a stronger future for our farmers.”

Countries participating include Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, and the U.K., among others. Ohio’s food and agriculture sector adds $124 billion to the state economy annually and employs 1 in 8 workers.

The event will also visit Chicago, Illinois, and Jersey City, New Jersey. Interested Ohio companies must register by July 2, 2025, by contacting Tim Sword at the ODA.
