The Slipaway Food Truck Park and Marina in Cape Coral is gearing up for its grand opening on July 4.
The park, which broke ground in June 2023, is bustling with activity as workers prepare for the celebration.
Ozzie Morrobe, co-owner of the Smokestream BBQ truck, is eager to start serving customers.
“I’ve seen all the work they’ve gone through. I remember when they broke ground here,” said Morrobe.
The park features ten food trucks, including a main indoor area and a marina where guests can dock their boats.
Morrobe expressed his excitement by saying, “We literally built this truck for this park—something that we’ve been looking for for so long, and it just, it’s exciting for us.”
Jorge Diaz, owner of the Yunta Food Truck, is highlighting the unique offerings of his Cuban-inspired menu.
“The Cuban sandwich croquettes, empanada, rice, beans, ropavieja. So I think all those Cuban cultural foods are going to bring happy customers,” said Diaz.
The event’s website indicates the July 4 celebration will proceed rain or shine, with updates provided in case of severe weather.
