The Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services is partnering with the University of Missouri Extension to conduct a series of focus groups.
The focus group would discuss agriculture, food access and nutrition.
The collaboration is seeking participants who would like to share their food-related experiences within the community.
Some food experiences range from acquiring food, accessing food assistance or nutrition information and reflecting on food system resiliency.
The study is part of a larger project called Our Food Boone County (OFBC), funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health.
OFBC’s goal is to provide a better understanding of Boone County’s food system and how food is brought to our tables.
Focus groups will take place throughout July on the following dates –
- Special Dietary Needs (Tuesday, July 8)
- Immigrants and Refugees (Thursday, July 17)
- Students (Tuesday, July 22)
- Food Assistance Participants (Wednesday, July 23)
- Food Retailers (Thursday, July 24)
Participants who contribute to the focus group will be provided with a complimentary meal and a 20-dollar gift card.
