I’ve personally felt the frustration of buying a backpack for my kid in August, only to have it fall apart halfway through the school year. But there’s some good news for parents getting a head start on back-to-school shopping: Calpak just launched a brand-new kids’ collection.

Like everything Calpak does, the details are extremely thoughtful. Per the brand, each item in this collection has a water-resistant exterior, which will help keep their stuff dry and will be easier to wash.
Calpak Kids Small Backpack
The backpacks can be used for school or as a carry-on for travel and comes in three sizes, depending on the size and age of your mini-me. Per the manufacturer, the small is geared for ages 3 to 5, can fit up to an 11-inch tablet and has padded straps. The medium is designed for ages 5 to 8 and has a ton of pockets, including a padded sleeve that can hold laptops up to 14 inches. Kids 8 to 12 can opt for the large, which has extra durable handles, organizational interior pockets and a 16-inch backpack sleeve.
Calpak is also known for its standout colorful appearance — and this line is no exception. I’m personally obsessed with the Yellow Bloom print, but items are also available in Black, Blue, Orchid, Pink and Khaki. Another thoughtful touch is that all the backpacks have an AirTag holder built in, which is handy if you’re wrangling a group through the airport.
