The new Jake Roberson Memorial Splashpad in Massillon opened just in time for a heat wave, with the … let’s just say hot … weather attracting a bevy of kids interested in cooling down.
The National Weather Service expects temperatures to continue to be on the steamy side over the next several days in Stark County.
A heat advisory will continue through 8 p.m. June 24.
Beginning June 25, each day for the rest of the week carries a chance of showers, which may help to cool things a bit. However, temperatures won’t drop off completely, with highs near 90 degrees expected until the weekend. The temperatures will peak in the high 80s on June 28 and 29.
