
Keith Lee is on the hunt for the best food out there, and already has his next stop planned.
“We are going to Oregon,” he revealed exclusively to our Courtney Tezeno at the Kids’ Choice Awards. “My wife’s been talking about it for years, that’s one of the places she really wants to try.”
He continued, “Every time we ask somebody about it that’s either from there or been there, they rave about it They say Portland has one of the number one food scenes from a food truck perspective, from a diversity perspective and from a perspective of vibes and aesthetics, so I’m excited.”
Lee made a name for himself on TikTok doing food reviews and visiting restaurants but has always remained focused on his family.
“For me it’s remembering what’s important. It’s one thing to be in the public eye, but it’s another thing to be a family man and realizing that’s the most important to me. And I keep my family with me wherever I go, so my wife is always with me, my sister’s always with me, kids are always with me, they come on food tour with us.”
Lee and his wife, Ronni, have a two-year-old and a four-year-old, and are expecting a third later this year. The couple did just take a solo trip to Paris without the kids, and Lee noted, “This is the longest that we’ve been away from them and I’m going crazy.”
The 28-year-old also stays true to his Detroit roots with his love for Coney Islands (restaurants popular in Michigan that specialize in coney dogs that also offer other items like chili dogs and very often Greek food, as they were founded in that state by Greek immigrants).
Lee recommends L. George’s because, “It’s a nostalgia thing, it’s based in what I grew up eating every day after high school, after middle school, elementary school in general.”
He’s also a fan of What’s the Dill, a pickle-based restaurant in Detroit.
“It’s a sandwich place where all the bread[s] are pickles. So instead of actual sandwiches, they just hollow out dill pickles and they put very classic corned beef. Michigan has some of the best corned beef or best deli meat general, so they use Boar’s Head deli meat and put it inside of pickles.”
