“Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” has been renewed for an eighth season at PBS Kids, which will debut in 2026.
The season order includes ten new episodes as well as two new half-hour specials. One will introduce Daniel’s cousin, who is adopted, and the other will explore New Year’s Eve traditions in the Neighborhood of Make Believe. Along with adoption, topics to be covered in Season 8 include morning and nighttime routines, cleaning up and patience. The season will also revisit the ideas from the show’s popular song “Grownups Come Back” and present parenting strategies based on the “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” song “Let’s Think of Something to Do While We’re Waiting.”
An animated spinoff of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” which aired for 31 seasons until 2001, “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” premiered in 2012. Each episode of the series includes two stories following Daniel and his friends through the colorful Neighborhood of Make-Believe, with half-hour specials featuring one story from Daniel’s perspective and another from one of the other characters, which include Katerina Kittycat, Miss Elaina, O the Owl, Prince Wednesday, Jodi Platypus, Max and Chrissie.
