FALMOUTH, Maine (WGME) — Celebrities hit the links in Falmouth on Sunday for the 3rd annual Drive Fore Kids Golf Tournament.
Dozens of celebrities and athletes helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for two Maine charities.
The event supports the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital and Dempsey Center.
The charities will see more than $100,000 combined.
Red Sox hall of famer Jim Rice says he’s honored to be involved with a team that cares so much about causes like this.
“I mean, I’ve been with the Red Sox for 10 years and of course they known for cancer research so when you part of the rest part of that circle, so when there’s anything like this come up, you know we’d be invited to come to the Red Sox history of the players and the Red Sox history of the organization,” Rice said.
Other athletes playing in the event included World Series champion Derek Lowe, former Boston Bruin Tuukka Rask and Tyler Seguin, and current Patriots quarterback Brian Hoyer.
