The Anne Arundel County Food Bank (AACFB) hosted its fourth annual Feeding Hope fundraiser on June 12, 2025, at the U.S. Naval Academy’s Fluegel Alumni Center. Presented by the Deerbrook Fund, the event brought together community members and local businesses in support of AACFB’s mission to provide fresh, nutritious food to residents in need across the county.
Guests enjoyed a wide selection of food from a lineup of local restaurant sponsors, including Caliente Grill, Café Mezzanotte, Galway Bay Irish Restaurant & Pub, Metropolitan, Garten, Prime Rib at Live!, Vin 909 Wine Café, Ken’s Creative Kitchen, Annapolis Smokehouse and Tavern, and Julie St. Marie Catering. The evening also featured live music from Red Betty & The Ruckus.
More than 11 percent of Anne Arundel County residents—over 66,000 people—experience food insecurity.
A highlight of the evening was a “can-struction” art installation—a sculpture made entirely of food cans—created through a collaboration between Annapolis-based Studio 343 and on-site build sponsors Laborers International Union of North America’s (LiUNA) LECET Mid-Atlantic Region and the Metropolitan Area of Philadelphia/Baltimore/Washington District Council.
According to recent data, more than 11 percent of Anne Arundel County residents—over 66,000 people—experience food insecurity. AACFB currently supports an average of 48,000 instances of assistance each month.
“With ongoing economic uncertainty, an increase in area job losses especially within our federal workforce, and elevated food and housing costs, many families are having difficulty keeping up with costs,” said AACFB CEO Leah Paley. “Supporting the food bank helps put nutritious food on the tables of families in need throughout Anne Arundel County.”
Paley added, “We are so grateful to our more than 40 Feeding Hope 2025 sponsors including the Lift As We Climb Foundation and Wegmans for their incredible support. Because of partners like them and the many individual ticket purchasers, we surpassed the evening’s goal, raising more than $120,000.”
