Open Table’s “Fuel Up for Summer” program is returning, offering healthy meals and snacks for children. Families may begin receiving kids’ meals along with their weekly food pantry distribution on June 23.
“Every week, hundreds of local families rely on Open Table for the food they need,” Executive Director Alexandra DePalo said in a statement. “The summer months can be especially difficult for families who depend on school lunches, and we are happy to help relieve some of that stress.”
Parents and caregivers can sign up online or by phone and receive up to three lunch packs a week for each child, along with their groceries. These meals include a sandwich or wrap with veggie sticks or a side salad. Vegetarian options are available.
Open Table also offers Kids’ Bags, which include snacks, easy-to-prepare light meals, and drink boxes. All meals are peanut-free.
Lunch packs must be reserved by noon Monday to guarantee availability for that week. Meals can be picked up from 3-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, or 1-4:30 p.m. Thursdays, at Open Table, 33 Main Street. Maynard. No photo ID or proof of financial need is required.
To sign up, visit opentable.org/kids, call (978) 369-2275, or email [email protected].
