It finally happened. I’ve reached the stage in life where I feel compelled to write about kids’ water bottles. (Take that, expensive liberal arts degree!)
But here’s the deal: As a mom of two who has spent the past 10 years thinking way more about leaky, moldy decidedly ugly kids’ cups than I would care to admit, this moment truly feels like a coup.
And so I present to you: The Yeti Rambler Jr. 12-ounce kids’ water bottle. Made from BPA-free, slam-proof stainless steel along with double-wall vacuum insulation, this little powerhouse keeps drinks seriously chilled. I often send my son to school with it filled with water one morning and discover that it’s still ice cold the next day when I go to rinse it out. It’s also the only water bottle I’ve ever had that is actually leak-proof; toss it in a backpack upside down and nobody’s dinosaur folder will emerge damp.
But my favorite thing about it is probably how easy it is to clean. See, I am a very lazy woman, and scrubbing mold from the inside of a sippy cup spout thing is not how I like to spend my time. The Yeti is dishwasher-safe, comes apart in three easy pieces (base, lid, straw) and never ever ever gets moldy. (Although to be fair, I only allow my kids to put water in it, because milk in a straw bottle grosses me out.) Some days all I do is give it a quick sink rinse, then throw it back in the bookbag.
