The first of several carts opened Tuesday at the Delta Carts pod on North Hayden Meadows Drive, with more set to open later this week.
PORTLAND, Ore. — A new food cart pod opened Tuesday in North Portland’s Delta Park, a “soft launch” for what will eventually be nine carts offering a variety of food and drink options.
The Delta Carts opened at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, with Getta Gyro the first cart to open. TMT Development, the real estate firm which owns the site, said that more carts would open Friday.
Food carts that will be at the space include Indian Tadka House, Korean Tiger, Ta Bueno Ne, Getta Gyro, PDX Philly Cheese Hub and M24 Sushi. Other carts planned for the pod include Bobablastic, Fatso’s Cheketos and Faith Catering (Soul Food).
“We’re thrilled to open a fun new food cart pod for people living in or visiting North Portland,” said Vanessa Sturgeon, president & CEO of TMT Development. “Delta Carts offers diverse and high-quality food and beverage options for families and visitors in the Delta Park area. The new food carts will appeal to both casual diners, people attending events at Delta Park and other venues in the area, as well as boaters as they head to and from the Columbia River.”
Sturgeon’s firm believes the new pod will offer convenient access to traffic off I-5 and the nearby Portland International Raceway, Delta Park Sports Complex and the Portland Expo Center.
“We’re investing in the Delta Park and Jantzen Beach area to energize this part of North Portland with new food options and contribute to the increasing vitality of this community,” Sturgeon continued. “We’ve heard from people living in the area about how eager they are for more businesses that will turn this part of the city into a lively destination for visitors.”
