- Several Rapides Parish restaurants had critical health violations between June 2-6, 2025.
- Violations ranged from improper food temperatures and storage to pest issues.
- Some establishments had repeat violations for lacking food safety certifications.
- The Louisiana Department of Health has a dashboard that tracks these inspections, though with a seven-day delay.
The Town Talk obtained food safety inspection information for the week of for the week of June 2-6, 2025, from the Louisiana Department of Health.
The top nine addresses with the most critical violations are listed, along with an explanation of the findings. All restaurants on the list had at least two critical violations.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, uncorrected critical violations are more likely to contribute to food contamination or illness. Less serious violations are not directly related to foodborne illness but could become hazardous if uncorrected.
The Louisiana Department of Health’s retail food health inspections dashboard includes a history of each establishment’s inspection reports. Inspections should be considered a “snapshot” and might not always reflect an establishment’s day-to-day operations and overall condition.
Violations fall into two main categories: critical and non-critical. Critical violations are more likely to contribute directly to food contamination or illness if left uncorrected. Non-critical violations are not directly related to the cause of foodborne illness but could become critical if left uncorrected.
The DHH dashboard is updated daily; however, there is a seven-day delay between when inspections are made and posted online.
Check eatsafe.la.gov for the most recent inspection information available and information on how to file a complaint.
