Police officer accused of throwing eggs at kids in South Carolina, chief says

YORK, S.C. (WBTV) – A police officer in South Carolina was arrested earlier this month after he was accused of throwing eggs at children and “catcalling” women.

The officer, Timothy Dover, worked for the York Police Department, the police chief confirmed.

Court records showed Dover was arrested on June 6 and was charged with breach of peace. He was released on a $257.70 bond.

Following his arrest, the York police chief said Dover resigned. He had been with the department for 15 years.

A second city of York employee — Benjamine Wright — was also arrested the same day and was faced with the same charge, records showed. Wright was also released after posting a $257.70 bond.

The York city manager said Wright was fired on June 13 after nearly five years as an employee. It is unclear exactly what his role was with the city.
