
LIFE (Lawrence County Interfaith Endeavor) Food Pantry does not receive any money from the state or federal government. The pantry relies entirely on donations from local and regional sources.
Their is the mission statement, which can be seen at lifeindiana.org, states: “LIFE is a non-profit organization that was started in 1987. It is a cooperative ministry supported by over 40 churches in Lawrence County. LIFE provides emergency food assistance every 30 days, and emergency rent and/or mortgage and utility assistance.”
Current needs are canned meats, flour and sugar, macaroni and cheese, coffee/tea, canned fruit, small dish detergent, and toilet paper. LIFE also accepts refrigerated and frozen items. Also needed are empty egg cartons and empty dish soap containers.
LIFE is located at 1204 I St. in Bedford, and 122 N. Seventh St. in Mitchell. For more information, call the Bedford office at 812-279-4442 and the Mitchell location at 812-849- 2111.
