Clayton Holds NY Food and Wine Festival

CLAYTON, New York (WWNY) -Another year of the Great New York State Food and Wine Festival has come to an end.

With nearly 90 vendors, 17 of which were new this year, the Clayton Cerow Recreation Park Arena was full of wine and food stalls. While some of those vendors say the event had a good turnout comparable to years prior, others say the Arena is usually packed tight most of the weekend, and this weekend didn’t seem as busy.

A possible contributor to a perceived lack of people this year, event organizers say fewer Canadians came out.

<“Which is disappointing, but I did talk to a really fun group of Canadians yesterday and they’re like ‘We come every year and we weren’t going to miss it.’ So, they were here and they were super excited to be here, but yes we have seen a decline in our Canadian friends attending,” said Tricia Bannister the Executive Directo of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce.

Next year they’re hoping to see more of our neighbors to the North, and they’re also hoping to bring in more vendors.
