Want to save money on a babysitter at a summer concert?
The Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview will let kids in for free to three upcoming shows, according to an email sent to Empower Federal Credit Union members Thursday. But don’t get too excited, parents — none of them are Kidz Bop or Blippi.
One child 12 and under will admitted on the lawn with each paid adult lawn ticket to the following Empower FCU Amphitheater concerts:
July 14: Styx, Kevin Cronin Band and Don Felder
Aug. 1: Little Big Town, Wynonna Judd and Shelby Lynne
Aug. 28: Tedeschi Trucks Band and Whiskey Myers
Lawn tickets are currently on sale for all three shows, with prices ranging from $30-50 for Styx/Kevin Cronin, $30-$50.50 for Little Big Town, and $30-$50.75 for Tedeschi Trucks Band. Parking costs additional fees.
An adult ticket must be presented at the tent by the main gate on the day of the show to redeem a single free child ticket. The offer is only good for those three concerts; all dates and artists are subject to change, the email said. (Also keep in mind, if you’re bringing multiple children, you’ll need multiple paid tickets).
The Amp made a similar deal for five concerts last year, including Train’s performance with REO Speedwagon (featuring Kevin Cronin).
However, one major difference this year is that outside lawn chairs are not allowed at any amphitheater concerts. A limited number of lawn chairs will be available to rent.
But if you know a 5-year-old who likes rock classics like “Mr. Roboto” or the country song “Pontoon,” it’s still a pretty good deal.
