(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento Developer Collective will host its 7th annual Capital Creative Showcase on Saturday, where the public will get the chance to play locally developed video games.
The theme for this year’s event is “Phoenix,” which the collective said held special meaning for them.
“2025 marks one of the most transformative years for SDC. We have a new president, several new board members, and a wave of new initiatives that signal a fresh direction for our organization,” the organization said in a press release. “SDC is evolving, and we wanted our theme to reflect that. The Phoenix represents not just our growth, but our commitment to rising stronger, igniting creative energy, and continuing to support Sacramento’s vibrant game development and creative communities.”
Sacramento Developer Collective said the showcase will feature games from over 40 developers from the Sacramento and Bay Area, including Team Checkmate, Studio Polyfire, Phunen Games, Erkai Games, Circus Boredware, Ghost Llama Games, Emberfrost and Hexwave Studio.
The group was founded in 2007 with the aim of fostering a game developer industry in Sacramento. The collective puts on educational workshops, game jams and other community events.
The event starts at 11 a.m. at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria. Tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
