Jackson, Pinedale organizations receive food access grant

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS) and Food Works Group (FWG) announced on Wednesday, June 4, that organizations in Jackson and Pinedale have been awarded pilot grant funds to strengthen food production and food access in the state.

Both One22 Resource Center in Jackson and Silver Stream Farm in Pinedale received state funding to help enhance its food distribution. As part of the Food Security System Implementation Project, in total, eight Wyoming organizations have been awarded a total of $322,705 in funds. The entities will also receive technical assistance from food system contributors in the state. 

The additional six Wyoming organizations to receive funding include: Edible Prairie Project (Gillette), Foundations for Nations Food Pantry (Riverton), Eat Wyoming (Casper), Rooted in Wyoming (Sheridan) and Slow Food Wind River (Lander).

FWG will administer the program and distribute the funds throughout Wyoming. By early 2026, FWG will announce the availability of the full Forward Contract Grant Program funds to enhance the capacity for food pantries to purchase and distribute Wyoming-grown foods. In addition, FWG will soon develop a process and begin making investments in infrastructure and distribution to better connect Wyoming producers and buyers.
