The French Open 2025 was not just an adrenaline-inducing athletic spectacle. Top players from across the globe flaunted their signature styles through a vibrant fusion of fashion and sporting grace. While some donned original designs from their own fashion lines, others represented prominent sportswear brands by sporting unique and stand-out pieces. Naomi Osaka Pays Tribute to Japan’s Cherry Blossom


 

The four-time Grand Slam champion has been known to wear outfits that pay homage to her cultural and familial heritage. This Roland Garros, Osaka channeled the ‘Sakura’ (cherry blossom) season, intrinsic to Japan’s cultural scape as she donned a pink and cherry-hued NIKE ensemble in her May 26 face-off with Paul Badosa. Apart from her blushing court dress and signature NIKE Sakura-themed shoes, Osaka’s accessory game stole the show as she donned a classic hairdo with pink flower-shaped hair accessories and matching pink minimalistic earrings.

The premium tennis apparel line Wilson stuck to bright sunny vibes for their 2025 Roland Garros collection, sported by Canada’s Victoria Mboko and US’s Alycia Parks. Their bright, yellow outfits channeled a delightful contrast with the red clay of the court in keeping with Wilson’s vision that sought a throwback to the 1999 tournament with ‘sun-kissed shades that look incredible on red clay’. According to Joel Michaeloff, Wilson’s VP of design, the idea was to make sure that everything they do with the collection steals eyes right away as the players walk onto the red clay.

The World No. 1 athlete grabbed eyeballs at the Roland Garros with a stunning cyan blue rendition of the Paris Slam Dress. Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice another significant detail on her NIKE shoes, a signature tiger motif that goes along with her nickname and the familiar tiger tattoo on her forearm. In a Media Day interview, Sabalenka teased her outfit as she said, “NIKE is helping me feel special and unique. I think it’s a cool logo and I like it. It’s giving me more motivation to keep pushing myself.”

Andreeva channeled the retro tennis-girl energy with a mini version of the long bordeaux-red skirt worn by players in the early years of the game, thoughtfully revamped by NIKE with its signature flowy folds and classic red hue. As Andreeva told tennis.com, she was quite happy with NIKE’s effort to revamp the classic court fashion into a comfortable and breezy piece — “Honestly, I can’t imagine people playing their actual matches in this kind of long skirt! I love that NIKE had an idea to try and bring out this classic vibe from, like (many) years ago.”
 
Andrey Rublev debuts all-new K-Speed Rublo shoes

Along with his attractive K-Swiss kit in contrasting shades of bright green and black, the Russian athlete sported the K-Speed Rublo Clay, a signature sporting footwear, for which he collaborated with the brand’s design team. Designed in close consideration with the player in terms of style and comfort, the shoes match his outfit in the same combination of light green and black. To the outfit was added a classic black K-Swiss headband with the brand’s logo, which created a classy variation to the player’s overall look.

Coco Gauff brings out her inner girlboss with a signature bodice and leather jacket. Her stunning blue-gray dress with a racerback bodice and matching asymmetrical pleated skirt was the perfect balance of sporting elegance and fashionable charm. The contrast of lighter and darker shades all over the outfit with a classic doodly pattern grabbed eyeballs in its quirky authenticity. The chic Vanson leather jacket sported by Gauff off court also grabbed attention of fashion enthusiasts. With its bold black hue and cool zippers, it made the athlete channel her inner girlboss.

The two-time Grand Slam champion sported outfits straight from her own collection, complete with her signature ‘TT’ logo. From an entire bright pink tennis dress to a green skirt and white top combo, Townsend sported multiple eye-catching looks from her original fashion line as she played clothes sponsor for herself for her French Open stint, a truly inspiring initiative for sportspersons around the world.
