Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver sees the Wu-Tang Clan make their long-awaited return to video games

25 years after the release of their first video game, iconic rap group Wu-Tang Clan announce their return to gaming with Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver.

Wu-Tang Clan, one of the greatest and most iconic rap groups of all time, revealed an all-new video game project titled ‘Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver’ in a joint announcement during Summer Game Fest 2025 and at the opening performance of the group’s farewell tour, Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber.

Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver was notably announced 25 years after the Wu-Tang Clan’s debut video game, ‘Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style’, a fighting game released for the PlayStation all the way back in December 1999. The group’s second game will see players return to the world of Shaolin and use mystical powers granted by members of the Wu-Tang Clan to battle the forces of the Deceiver in a co-op action title.

Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver’s bombastic trailer gave us a sneak peek at its gameplay, its dynamic soundtrack featuring snippets of the group’s most iconic songs, and its stylish Afro-surrealist and anime-inspired artstyle. Check it out below:

More details for new Wu-Tang Clan game revealed

In Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver, Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah will call on players to help him rescue the other members of the group as they fight the corrupting invasion of the Deceiver and restore Shaolin to a beacon of hope, community, and prosperity. Players will use powers passed on to them by members of the Wu-Tang Clan to help them fight through increasingly difficult battle chambers.

The game will fully support three-player co-op, feature a social hub, and even let players customise their fighting styles and outfits to best embody the drip and spirit of the Wu-Tang Clan. Of course, the game promises a dynamic soundtrack that includes classic Wu-Tang Clan songs (C.R.E.A.M. notably features prominently in the trailer) plus new material, all overseen by legendary producer Just Blaze.

Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver will be the debut title for developer Brass Lion Entertainment, and it’s looking like a PC-exclusive title for now, as the game is only available for wishlist on Steam and the Epic Games Store. There is no set release date for the game yet, however.

Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver was initially conceived as a tie-in to ‘Angel of Dust’, an upcoming supernatural thriller produced by Ghostface Killah and directed by the RZA under AOD Films. And while it’s sad to see one of rap’s most iconic groups bid farewell to the scene, releasing Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver on their way out will be a truly Wu-Tang Clan way to go. Wu-Tang Forever.
