St. Cloud charter school offers summer learning programs for kids

ST. CLOUD, Fla. – School may be out for the summer, but some educators say your kids still need to be learning.

The Creative Inspiration Journey School is a tuition-free public charter school. They have a summer program and are offering special sessions for the public.

On Saturday at 10 a.m., they have a session about exploring nature. There are also sessions to learn about the ocean and outer space.

The school relies on donations from the community and is inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational model, a world-renowned Italian approach based on children learning through projects.

Jessica Shea from Creative Inspiration Journey School told News 6, “We believe that here at CIJ that education is a continuous journey, and learning never stops. Even though we are in the summer months, let’s do it in a fun way. Let’s get out in the environment and just keep learning, keep asking why.”

Currently, the school is also accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year.
