Rally and food drive held in Sioux Falls to support veterans

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – In honor of D-Day, a local non-profit put together a rally and food drive to help support local veterans.

On Friday in front of the Battleship Memorial, rallygoers were able to bring signs along with non-perishable foods or money to show their support for veterans in need.

All proceeds and donations went to South Dakota DAV Arthur H. Muchow Chapter #1.

“The food drive is a thing that is being done because too little is being done by our government. They sent them home and turned them loose to struggle for themselves, and organizations like DAV exist because our government has failed its veterans. We need to do more of these food drives, clothing drives, and everything we can to support our veterans because our government doesn’t,” said attendee John Cunningham.

The rally was organized by Queen City Underground.
