As summer approaches, many local families face a difficult truth: without school in session, hundreds of children in Millersport may not have consistent access to healthy meals. The Millersport Community Food Pantry is stepping in with a solution — its Summer Food Program, which will provide up to 200 students with weekly food support throughout the summer months.
The food pantry is reaching out to ask for help. A tax-deductible donation will help provide nutritious, child-friendly meals when school lunches are not available. Every dollar raised will go directly toward feeding children in our community. The pantry is also accepting food donations for the program. These could be prepared items to serve during the event or pre-packaged items to send home. Monetary gifts will have an immediate impact and ensure no child in the community goes hungry this summer. Donations can be made by check, online or in person. To learn more or to get involved, please contact Holly directly at 740-415-5211 or [email protected]. Let’s work together to make sure every child is fed, supported, and cared for this summer.
The Summer Lunch Program will be held every Monday from June 2 through Aug. 4 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Millersport Community Food Pantry, 2315 Weekly Avenue in Millersport.
