BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The sixth annual KBTX Summer Hunger Food Drive is underway and throughout the month of June donations will be accepted across Bryan and College Station for the Brazos Valley Food Bank.
The Summer Hunger Food Drive is a partnership between the Brazos Valley Food Bank and KBTX to help provide food to the community. The Brazos Church Pantry is also teaming up with the food bank to help fight hunger in the Brazos Valley.
Volunteers gather six times a week in downtown Bryan to help feed hungry neighbors.
Andrea Derrig has been volunteering for 20 years and told KBTX she has noticed an increase in need. “We serve about 400 families a week which represents a lot of people in the families too.”
Teaming up with the food bank means that items such as canned goods, produce, and meat can be given to the community.
There are six locations this year in Bryan and College Station where you can drop off donations.
- Paradowski Law Firm: June 2, 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m.
- Aggieland Outfitters: June 3, 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
