Study: Chelan County 5th most expensive in state to finance a home

study from SmartAsset

According to the study, Chelan County ranked fifth most expensive among Washington counties, with a 6.99% interest rate, a median house value of $576,640 and total average cost of $1,218,608.

The cost of buying a home, for many, can be higher than the one paid at closing because interest rates have a significant impact on the final cost of the purchase.

A new study from SmartAsset, a website for consumer-focused financial information, assessed the cost of financing a home in counties across the United States, according to a release. The study used median home values and estimated interest rates for a 30-year fixed rate mortgage to calculate the total cost of financing a home.
