LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Today, Modern Woodmen of America teamed up with the Allen Parish Airport to host a free fly-in for the community.
Guests were treated to jambalaya, music, and free plane rides for kids.
Luke Lonergan says these events are particularly helpful when it comes to getting kids interested in aviation, “Something that’s really important to use is investing in the next generation and showing children another path in life. Kinda expand what they might be thinking. And seeing aviation is really cool, and an exciting, growing area. So, we wanted to showcase that, give them something else to do that they might not think about.”
Lonergan says they hope to make this an annual event.
