PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – As Portland welcomes the final weekend of May and sunny skies, people can look forward to an array of events and activities across the metro area.

Rose Festival CityFair returns
The Portland Rose Festival’s CityFair returns for its second weekend at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Attendees can enjoy carnival rides, live entertainment, local crafts, and a variety of fair foods.
CareOregon Starlight Parade
The CareOregon Starlight Parade will be lighting up downtown streets on Saturday evening and FOX 12 will be there covering all the fun.
Watch in person from the street as the parade travels through downtown Portland and ends at Lincoln High School. PRO TIP: Visit CityFair, then step out to Naito Parkway to watch the parade, right where it starts!
You can also watch from the comfort of your couch. FOX 12 will broadcast and livestream the parade starting at 8:30 p.m.
Cultural celebrations and markets
Lan Su Chinese Garden continues its celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with performers and cultural displays through May 31.
Families can explore the Portland Saturday Market, the nation’s largest continuously operated outdoor market, featuring handmade goods, food vendors, and live music.
For a unique and family-friendly experience, the Willamette Shore Trolley offers scenic rides along the river between Portland and Lake Oswego, operating on weekends during the summer.
Outdoor Adventures
Nature enthusiasts can visit Multnomah Falls, where timed use permits are required between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to manage summer crowds. Permits can be obtained here.
Anglers have several opportunities with the spring chinook season underway in the Willamette River Watershed. Top fishing spots include Cathedral Park, Henry Hagg Lake, and Progress Lake Park.
