Casper, Wyo. – Today was the last day of school and kids are officially out for summer. And as a way to kick it off in the right direction, the YMCA along with others is having their annual healthy kid’s day this weekend.
“Healthy Kids’ Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and wellbeing of kids and families,” said Risa Sabus, Senior Membership Director for the YMCA of Natrona County.
This Saturday from 10am to 12 pm if you pass by David Street Station you will find that the YMCA will be hosting the annual healthy kids’ day. You will see many activities for all ages going on and Sabus mentions that along with fitness activities like yoga and taekwondo, you will find more activities like:
“We also have an obstacle course that we will set up a gaga ball pit and then all of our sponsor and community partners that are there will have different activities for kids so all kind of different activities and giveaways all day long,” said Sabus.
The Y is all about promoting healthy lifestyles for all individuals and Sabus says the reason for the national initiative is to help families realize that being healthy can be an easy thing.
“Being healthy and active with your family can mean so many things so we’re here to show everybody that there are so many different ways to be active and healthy as a family and its important and we want to stress that it doesn’t have to be a hard thing to do.”
The first 150 kids to show up will receive a goodie bag and a T-shirt.
There will also be a free lunch served from 10:30 to 12 on Saturday.
